The present project ‘Der Küchentisch’ (The Kitchen Table) turns out to be a restaurant where guests can watch experienced chefs preparing traditional Lower Austrian dishes and learn from them. The focus is on regional farm-to-table products. The chosen design features characteristics of traditional Austrian architecture as well as the interior of Viennese inns and combines them with modern elements. The second location, entitled ‘Das Schaufenster’, on the other hand, presents itself as a concept store that offers a platform for regional foodstuffs such as wine as well as other artisanal products, handmade textiles, soaps, stationery, jewellery, etc. by small entrepreneurs from the nearby region. The product portfolio is coupled with an adjoining ceramics studio where customers can watch the artists at work.
