WerkSTADT

The “WerkSTADT” project offers future residents a wide range of different flats. It ranges from old to new buildings in timber construction and flat sizes from 38 – 96m². In this way, an extremely broad user group is deliberately addressed. A diversity that is intended to contribute to a targeted heterogeneity of the house community. Intergenerational coexistence in the WerkSTADT is particularly strengthened by the centrally positioned communal building. This is home to two different areas situated around a courtyard: the northern part as a workshop or work area and the southern part as a community and lecture area. In this way, the residents are offered the opportunity to get involved in the community by passing on their know-how, their skills and also their interests within the society. This provides a framework for exchange and getting to know each other and creates a clear identity marker for the “WerkSTADT”.
