Linde
The “Linde” project sees itself as a spatial and social safety net for homeless and long-term homeless people. It covers the most important life-sustaining measures: Shelter, food, showers, warmth in winter, cooling in summer, company, medical care and advice centers. The “Linde” works according to the principle of the Housing First concept. People who have recently become homeless are quickly given accommodation and no longer have to sleep on the street. Long-term homeless people are helped to reintegrate into society and social life through a starter apartment and accompanying advice. The day center and the emergency sleeping facilities offer low-threshold help for those who do not want to or cannot make use of temporary accommodation. At the day center, those affected have the opportunity to come into contact with social workers who can offer them advice and support. The 80 emergency beds relieve the nearby “Caritas Gruft”, which is already reaching its capacity limits. The extensive safety net of the “Linde” fulfills the obligation of a social society to improve the living conditions of disadvantaged population groups.
