Forum Lindengasse – An oasis in the consumer desert
The aim of this project is to create a place without access requirements and consumer pressure, where neither a ticket nor a purchase is required to stay longer – an oasis in the consumer desert. The glass-roofed inner courtyard of the respective property serves as such a place. Thanks to the roofing and the addition of different levels, the courtyard offers a high quality of stay throughout the different seasons. But how can such a place be supported socially and financially? The front part of the building will be converted into attractive office space. In the garage, on the other hand, workspaces for creative people will be set up, financed by contributions and subsidies. These will contribute to the social activation of the courtyard – through events and their work. In this way, the courtyard opens up new possibilities for use, as the exchange between users creates unexpected symbioses. At the same time, the meeting of people becomes the potential for the courtyard to be a lively, consumer-free urban space.
