FASTENKAPELLE

The present design aims to transform the hospital chapel and the adjoining areas into a fasting chapel. The focus here is on abstinence and self-discovery. Following the programme, guests will be looked after during the day and cooked together at designated times over the course of a week. Guests are offered accommodation in the chapel courtyard where they can stay overnight during the fasting cure. Since regionality is very important, supplies are purchased regionally on the one hand, and on the other, a large number of raised beds mean that many vegetables are produced by the guests themselves. A wide range of activities, such as cycling, yoga and meditation or gardening, offer a variety of leisure activities. The overnight cells are positioned on two sides of the courtyard enclosure and are minimally equipped. The raised bed area is located in the centre of the courtyard area.
