Impulsquartier

The Impulsquartier project serves as food for thought in order to create an environment in which the most diverse uses meet and interact with each other. The main square in Neulengbach is a meeting place due to the commercial first floor zone, but has very little space to spend time in the urban space. The conversion and partial demolition of buildings numbers 14 and 16 will create a new pedestrian axis with a public courtyard that invites people to linger and walk through. The design language of the new buildings is based on the existing buildings and the height levels. This results in building forms with pitched roofs, façades executed with different plastering techniques and a stepping down of the building heights towards the green space. The uses are made up of residential, work and leisure areas. The public design is continued in the first floor zone. The range of uses consists of various workshop rooms, a book café, studio and marketplace and a repair workshop and swap shop. Connected to the green space are picking gardens and urban bees with adjoining training and workshop spaces. The upper floors are used for private purposes such as living.
