The new recreation, rest and health center is intended to serve as an attractive leisure offer for the residents and to invite tourists to linger. The existing eastern street façade will be opened up to create a new “green” and public space and offer new urban qualities through a bistro within the existing barn. The courtyard-like urban structure of Pulkau is taken up and a new addition creates an intimate courtyard for spa visitors in addition to a heated indoor pool, relaxation rooms, saunas as well as massage rooms and yoga facilities in the existing building. The entrance to the spa and health center is through the existing courtyard entrance. Internal circulation is oriented around the intimate courtyard, while access to the bistro is provided from the locker room wing. The upper floor of the existing building will be given a new roof and provide space for massages and yoga sessions. The rear area will be accessed via the new public plaza and bistro in the existing barn.
