In this project, an event hall is being designed for Schöngrabern’s town center, which is aimed at promoting and supporting cultural activities in a targeted manner. In order to preserve the view of the historic church, the new building extends underground between the church and the lapidarium. The newly designed roofing of this wing is embedded in the existing lawn. At the same time, the former elementary school will be converted into a multifunctional community center that can be used for a variety of purposes. At times, a catering kitchen can also be integrated as a supplement to the event hall, thus functionally connecting the two parts of the hall and the community center. This design aims to enrich social life in the village and create a platform for events, meetings and education. The combination of a modern new building and the historic redesign of the elementary school also reflects the connection with the past.
