FENSTER – Hohenwarth

The project addresses the two issues of local supply and housing in Hohenwarth, although the focus is on new housing. In the area of housing, units are to be created for young people in the phase of first home ownership, as well as units for older people who are moving from their own homes back into smaller flats. On the property “Weinviertler Straße 1”, two new buildings are to be constructed along Weinviertler Straße and Mühlbacher Straße in place of the former Sammer House. The first is a three-storey flat-roofed cube with five residential units between 60 and 70m² and a communal area with kitchen and seating facilities on the ground floor along Weinviertler Straße. The second is an approximately 27-metre-long building with a gable roof, situated parallel to Mühlbacher Strasse, in which two residential units of approximately 55m² for young living were planned for the attic floor, as well as a grocery store on the ground floor, which is connected to the wine shop via a staircase in the existing barn. The garden in the inner courtyard will be cultivated by both the residents and the vinotheque.
